karen klucowicz bio : artist/owner, studio k2
Karen Klucowicz is a Canadian artist known for working with nude figures in various levels of abstraction, intimacy and bold compositions of colour, represented by Raven Art Gallery in the Niagara region. Her art focuses on the strength of individuals and how that strength affects relationships.
Klucowicz established studio k2 in April, 2020. Although the pandemic hit hard, she demonstrates the resilience and creativity of artists moving forward to engage and grow the studio. The studio is the realization of her vision to share her passion for art and her belief that art has great power to enable communication, heal and grow individuals. With an extensive background in marketing, advertising and interior design Karen has created a studio plan to share her passion for art and collaborate with other artists to grow.
studio k2 moves her entrepreneurial spirit to new levels and brings her concepts together under one roof. studio k2 will advance other artists’ careers, grow the arts culture with artists, corporations and individuals to experience the joy of creating through workshop and retreat offerings.

“...Upon personal reflections when using a loom, a transformative reaction takes place. The pushing and pulling movement translates into a metaphor for the repetitive nature of daily life. My collection of work embodies these concepts...”

“Through this highly stylized method of drawing, I am able to convey narratives to the viewer, providing them stories both old and new under the guise of a traditional inker from a different age. By committing to methods of drawing that seem “outdated”, I am able to provide visual experiences to the audience that are newer and current...”

“Painting is thinking out loud on canvas. I believe there is no better way to demonstrate strength, relationship challenges, options and results, than to strip away ideas of an individual and reveal the character of being. ... To that end, I work with body-positive images, (and) flesh tones that are not based on anyone’s reality...”
