So.. the last few weeks have been a bit hectic but I wanted to stop for a minute and share the idea that it is okay to stop for a bit once in a while. That should be in any way that best serves you - last night I watched and listened to a conversation put on by the new museum (NYC) with artist Kevin Beasley. Ideas put forward by others can really give you pause to think.
Have you ever listened to someone expound on a concept or project? Someone outside of your usual (okay he is not for me but not the point - this is about you 😊) world. I would like to encourage you to listen to conversations with artists. Whether or not you like to chat about art you will be able to take in the thoughts, creativity, and problem solving put forward.
You are probably absorbed in thought abstractions (or abstract thoughts) every day. I think it’s wonderful to hear someone explain the context, direction or determination of concepts that run through their minds - could be a piece of art, might be a solution to communicating with someone - the interesting thing is that, as you listen, those ideas can come right around to you. They might allow you to think beyond the actual issue you’re confronted with, or look at it in another way, to bring clarity. Or maybe it will inspire new ideas. Try it. Indulge the diversion.
It has moved me to consider (and the day will dictate whether it is acted on) taking the time I need to work on a concept (painting) that’s been brewing all week ... when I paint it brings clarity and focus to the things in life that have to be done.
Will you take some time out and listen to a conversation with an artist? Maybe have that conversation with someone about concept!
Wish me luck - I wish the best of it to you and if you need some guidance in terms of what you can listen to ... or maybe you’d like to speak to one directly?! (I’m here!) reach out. [Oh actually you can drop in to our artists salons that I host biweekly (Tuesday evenings link here:

and have those conversations!] Happy to help 👩🎨
Live the power of art.
